With torch in hand, she aided Demeter in the search for Persephone, and ever since, she has stood as a guide through darkness. Often depicted at crossroads or doorways, cloaked in a flowing robe, she is flanked by the howls of hounds and the flicker of flame. Sometimes shown in triple form—three figures back to back—Hecate embodies past, present, and future, a guardian of thresholds, mystery, and transformation.
